I take responsibility

A value-oriented corporate culture meets international exchange and individual development opportunities.

With growing confidence and new responsibilities, Jonas progressed from dual student to manager in less than five years and now leads his own team. He values the dynamic working environment, international exchange, and value-oriented corporate culture, which have shaped him both professionally and personally.

My journey from dual student to manager

My career at Robert Walters began just under five years ago with the dual master's program, which I completed while working full-time. At the time, I could not have imagined how quickly and intensively my professional career would develop. During the day I worked at the company, and in the evenings I attended lectures. It was a challenging but also incredibly enriching combination of theory and practice. Even then, I had the feeling that this was an environment where you could grow and develop.

Initial successes and growing confidence

From the outset, I worked closely with my colleague Hannah, who provided me with significant support, particularly during the initial months. After three months, I celebrated my first placement, which motivated me to work even harder and continue on my path at Robert Walters with determination. Just seven months after starting, I was offered the opportunity to move into a more responsible position and take on tasks independently for the first time as an associate.

Keeping my own goals and expectations in mind

Since then, things have been steadily improving for me. Of course, there have been challenges and setbacks along the way—that's part of the process—but I've always kept my goal of continuous development in mind. Today, I look back with pride on what I have achieved during this time: in less than five years, I have made the leap from dual student to manager. I now lead my own team and am responsible for a sub-division of our Hamburg office. It's a great feeling to see how my area of responsibility is expanding and how I can now support others in achieving their goals and growing.

A job full of variety and dynamism

I am no longer just responsible for operational business, but also for an entire team, which means I work in an even more strategic and forward-looking manner. At the same time, I remain close to clients and candidates, which enables me to ensure that we are successful as a team and achieve our goals.

Another aspect that I really appreciate is the exchange with colleagues, both locally at the office and nationally in the UK and internationally. At Robert Walters, we work together across locations and benefit from each other. This exchange constantly provides new perspectives and brings fresh ideas to my everyday work.

What's more, the job thrives on getting out there, meeting new people and building personal relationships. So it's not a traditional office job. Whether it's clients or candidates, direct contact is at the heart of our work. This dynamic brings variety to every single day.

Values that make a difference

At Robert Walters, integrity, inclusion, innovation and community are top priorities. We celebrate our successes together and support each other at all times, which is what makes the working atmosphere so exceptional. At the same time, everyone has the opportunity to follow their own path, whether through flexible development prospects or the freedom to make decisions on their own responsibility. In this sense, you are like a small entrepreneur within the company.

These values are also reflected in the partnership between Robert Walters and the Global Angels Foundation in Tsavo, Kenya. Through my voluntary work on the project and the associated trip to Kenya, I was able to make a lasting contribution to the local community and show how important it is to work together.

I am proud to be part of this team, not only because of my own development, but also because of the unique corporate culture.
