I'm breaking new ground

Getting started in human resources

My journey began with a dual bachelor's degree in business administration at a leading telecommunications company. There, I was able to not only build up theoretical knowledge in the areas of finance, HR, marketing, and IT, but also gain my first practical experience—especially in human resources development. Even then, it was clear to me that my heart was set on actively shaping careers and the personal development of others. But the purely internal perspective wasn't enough for me. I wanted direct contact with a wide variety of people and was looking for a role that would offer me new inspiration from outside the company.

This search led me to the recruiting team of a large media group in Munich, where I found exactly what I was looking for: the opportunity to actively support people in their professional development. When I was working exclusively from home during the pandemic, I developed a desire to pursue a master's degree and further my professional development. Privately, I was increasingly drawn to Hamburg, and so a new chapter in my life began, both personally and professionally.

Growth through challenges

While searching for a way to combine work and study, I came across Robert Walters and it immediately felt right. I started in the IT team and quickly progressed from Associate Consultant to Senior Consultant. At the same time, I completed a part-time master's degree with a focus on business consulting. Sitting in lectures from 6 to 9 p.m. and working flat out during the day was exhausting, but it helped me grow incredibly.

2023 was a special year for me, as I not only successfully completed my master's degree, but also qualified for the top performer event in Mexico. It was an exciting time full of hard work, but in the end, I felt a great sense of pride.

New focus: Entering interim management

After four and a half years of recruiting permanent IT professionals, I finally took the next step and moved to the interim management team. I am very grateful to Robert Walters for this opportunity. It just felt like the right time for me to try something new. I was longing for a change, but at the same time I knew I wanted to stay with Robert Walters, so it was a win-win situation.

The change was an exciting addition to my previous experience. I see interim management as a field with great long-term prospects: the business is faster-paced, you are even closer to the processes, and you get to know incredibly exciting, experienced people on both the client and candidate sides. I particularly appreciate the dynamic nature of the interim sector and the opportunity to contribute my expertise in a new environment. At the same time, maintaining close contact with candidates remains important to me. You interact even more frequently with your own pool of candidates, who are always on the lookout for new projects.

Seizing opportunities, unlocking potential

When I joined Robert Walters, I was a rather shy and somewhat insecure person. But thanks to the supportive environment, I have really grown beyond myself. I particularly appreciate our team culture, where everyone supports each other—that's what makes us special. At the same time, I am impressed by the professionalism of the company and its focus on personal relationships with clients and candidates.

I also really enjoy the opportunity to pass on my knowledge. It's great to see others grow in the same way that I did.
