I achieve the right balance
At Robert Walters, a balanced relationship between work and private life is valued and supported.
My original plan at the time was to study mechanical engineering. However, I am glad how my career developed in a different direction and where I am today.
As a mother of two lively children, a four-year-old bundle of energy and an eight-month-old ray of sunshine, I face the challenge of balancing my career and family life. But I'm not alone. I am fortunate to have a loving family, a supportive husband, a great circle of friends, and an employer who all support my career advancement. They see how important it is for me to be active in my profession again.
My Structured Daily Routine
My day starts early, giving me a quiet moment for myself before the day begins with the children and then work. Every day, I practice resilience to meet the demands of daily life. Exercise is an essential part of my life, helping me stay physically and mentally fit. I make sure to do my home workouts regularly and also visit the gym. Equally important to me is my diet. I place great emphasis on eating consciously – with few to no carbohydrates and no fats – to keep my energy levels high. Although this means giving up many things that taste good, I know from experience how crucial a healthy diet is for my well-being and performance. I also draw a lot of energy from my work and the development of my employees. My personality reflects my power and energy.
Why the Recruitment Industry?
I chose the recruitment industry because it is a joy and enrichment for me to actively shape people's careers and help companies recruit new, suitable employees to pursue their business goals. Another important aspect is that it allows for rapid advancement, makes successes measurable, and lets career progression be driven by personal motivation rather than background, gender, or origin. I quickly realized how much I enjoy motivating others, helping them recognize their abilities, and celebrating their successes with them.
Support from My Employer
A crucial factor in my success is the support from my employer. At Robert Walters, a balanced work-life relationship is valued and supported. The company knows that the well-being of employees positively impacts their work. This kind of support, trust, and good planning is my secret to harmoniously combining work and personal life.
When I became a mother, I received the flexibility and support that allowed me to successfully balance my career and motherhood. I experienced great appreciation and acceptance. Particularly valuable was the ability to adjust my working hours to my needs, even in my role as a manager.
I knew from the start that I would return to my job as soon as possible because my work is very dear to me and gives me energy. I also wanted to continue advancing my team, and standing still was never an option for me. Of course, there were voices around me that expressed negative and critical opinions, but I never let them sway me.
It is inevitable that one's business will suffer temporarily during maternity leave. However, I was able to resume my professional activities quickly. In Germany, there is the option to work part-time during parental leave. This allowed me to ensure I didn't lose track of my career path.
I am proud to be a good mother, wife, and a successful manager. And I am ready to prove every day that I can be all this and much more.
