Faran's Story
"Robert Walters impressed me not only during my time as an interim manager but also now as an employer."
Throughout my career, I have gained extensive international experience by living and working in various countries. Before my studies, I explored Spain and Canada. During my Business Administration studies, I spent time in the USA and Argentina. After graduating, I spent three and a half years in Luxembourg, working in the audit department of a large audit firm while obtaining a qualification as a Chartered Accountant and gaining expertise in IFRS. I then moved to Sydney and later to London for six years, holding senior positions in the financial sector. Upon returning to Germany, I worked in various controlling roles before discovering Robert Walters.
I still remember the first interaction with my consultant, Benedict Horst, very well. Right from the start, I was impressed by the egalitarian nature of our conversation. Benedict prioritized understanding me not only as an interim manager but also as an individual, learning about my history and career aspirations.
The subsequent process reinforced my positive impression. Benedict swiftly presented me with an intriguing job offer. He explained the position in detail, focusing specifically on the values practised by the potential employer, the background of my future manager and the responsibilities of the HR department. This detailed information enabled me to get a comprehensive picture of what to expect at the company before the first interview. This preparation was crucial to the quality of my interviews, enabling a swift decision to work as an interim manager.
Since my first placement as an interim manager, I have maintained regular contact with Benedict. One day, he informed me of an internal Financial Controller position at Robert Walters that perfectly matched my profile. The interim job was never intended as a long-term solution, as I enjoy being part of a team and being involved in a long-term development. Robert Walters offered a local yet highly international environment that met my expectations precisely. After several successful interviews, which confirmed both my suitability and interest in the position, I transitioned from being a candidate to a permanent employee at Robert Walters.
In my new position, I had the exciting opportunity to build my own team from the ground up. At Robert Walters, I have experienced a corporate culture characterised by flat hierarchies, exceptionally open and collegial cooperation, dynamism and innovative approaches. The short decision-making process and high operational speed at Robert Walters promote a flexible and agile way of work environment. Robert Walters offers a setting that supports individual strengths and fosters multifaceted collaboration on an international level.
