We are seeking a Vice President to join the Business Promotion Department / Global Trade Finance Department (GTFD) at the EU headquarters of one of Germany’s leading banking groups. This pivotal role will position you as a key driver of the EU GTFD Front Office strategy, focused on accelerating the growth and diversification of Trade Finance revenues across EMEA through proactive pipeline management, strategic client engagement, and identifying new business opportunities. As Vice President, you will play an integral role in delivering core banking products and services to corporate clients, with a strong emphasis on Trade & Supply Chain Finance and Cash Management. You will collaborate closely with clients to understand their unique needs, craft tailored solutions, and drive sustainable revenue growth while ensuring exceptional client experiences.

The role is based in Frankfurt within the GTFD team and reports directly to the Team Head, operating as part of the broader GTFD EMEA Front Office platform. It offers significant autonomy and commercial ownership, allowing you to work closely with senior management while taking responsibility for originating, structuring, and executing transactions. You will have full ownership of selected deals as well as key components of more complex transactions—whether independently originated or developed collaboratively with other senior team members.

This position provides an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on the bank’s trade finance strategy across EMEA while building meaningful relationships with corporate clients and internal stakeholders alike.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate, strategize, structure, and execute Global Trade and Financial Development (GTFD) transactions for a portfolio of corporate clients, including leading client meetings, calls, and high-impact presentations.
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with corporate clients by delivering bespoke proposals that address their transaction banking needs while identifying opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Champion Transaction Banking solutions alongside risk distribution and mitigation strategies to support client objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee end-to-end transaction execution, ensuring seamless alignment with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, risk, and operations teams to uncover sales opportunities and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Develop and maintain robust account plans and sales pipelines to achieve strategic transaction banking goals within defined timelines.
  • Act as the trusted advisor and primary liaison for clients on Trade & Supply Chain Finance (SCF) and Cash Management transactions, providing expert insights on technical, operational, and compliance matters.
  • Identify market gaps and emerging opportunities, contributing to the innovation of products and services that meet evolving client demands.
  • Ensure strict adherence to risk management protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies while proactively addressing compliance challenges.
  • Represent the organization at high-profile client engagements, industry forums, and conferences to build credibility, foster trust, and establish enduring partnerships.
  • English will serve as the primary working language, proficiency in any additional languages spoken in the Nordic or DACH regions would be strongly preferred. (Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian, Swedish, Faroese, Greenlandic, Sami; German, French, Italian, Romansh, Sorbian, Frisian)
