Technical Delivery Manager(m/f/d) Banking

For one of the world top banking group's Frankfurt office, I am currently seeking for a Technical Delivery Manager with 1 to 3 years of prefessional experience in banking or financial services provider in Germany. The Technical Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a portfolio of IT projects that support business change initiatives. This role focuses on planning, tracking, and executing technology projects while collaborating with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors. The position requires a strong understanding of IT delivery processes combined with solid business awareness to translate requirements into structured delivery plans. A key aspect of the role involves governance, reporting, and control—ensuring accurate updates on project status, risks, issues, and milestones to support informed decision-making across IT and business functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of IT projects from initiation to completion.
  • Define project plans, milestones, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Track progress across multiple projects and ensure accurate reporting of technical status, risks, and issues.
  • Prepare clear project and portfolio reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Act as a central point of coordination between business units, IT teams, and third-party suppliers.
  • Identify delivery risks early, drive mitigation actions, and escalate when necessary.
  • Support governance activities such as RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), action tracking, and steering committee updates.
  • Ensure deliverables align with agreed requirements, internal standards, and expectations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in delivery processes, templates, and reporting practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience delivering IT projects or workstreams within a technology function; experience in banking or regulated environments is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of IT concepts such as applications, infrastructure, data integration, and the ability to engage credibly with technical teams.
  • Strong business awareness with the ability to translate business requirements into structured delivery plans.
  • Experience managing multiple technical initiatives simultaneously while tracking progress, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Expertise in reporting and governance practices including dashboards, RAID logs, portfolio views, and status reports.
  • Familiarity with project delivery methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, Scrum or hybrid approaches).
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail in planning and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in common project tools such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management software (e.g., Jira).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience working in matrix environments coordinating across stakeholders from different functions (business units/IT/external vendors).
  • Comfort operating in structured delivery environments with an appreciation for governance and regulatory expectations.
